That's Ameila, Ohio. Amelia is a relatively old village east of 'Cincinnati where my parents live. After today it may exist no more. Today is primary election day in the area and one of the measures on the ballot is a question to dissolve the village. How do you dissolve a village? Is there some kind of potent anti-village chemical that will be dropped from airplanes? Will it be scrubbed off future maps? Where will my parents' mail go? I might be absorbed into the village landfill if the ordinance passes--never to return; just dissolved.

Honestly this has me so freaked out I can't communicate a whole lot more right now. If the measure is defeated or I survive the absorption I will report more about my time at MorningStar.

I am actually very boring--in just about every way imaginable. Unless you happen to hit one of my "On" switches--and you happen to share that passion. What are the switches? In random order: college football, especially Ohio State variety; politics; the Kingdom of God; baseball; American history. I know nothing about music. I am totally and thoroughly ignorant about pop culture--proudly and blissfully ignorant, I might add. I go to about three movies a year. I decline every Facebook, Plaxo, or whatever else request to be a friend over the internet. Real friends would never send me that stuff. I know virtually nothing about science, medicine, technology, architecture or women's clothing sizes. I cannot program, record or work anything more complicated electronically than the television remote. Right now I am feeling better because I have confessed my true misanthropic soul before the entire world.
